A warrant had been issued for 28-year-old Avery Raynor King following an investigation into child abuse. King is accused of assaulting a four-year-old child in his care on the evening of June 10, according to the police.
Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Cedar Run Drive in Camp Hill on June 14 after the child’s mother reported suspicious injuries, police said. The mother discovered bruising on both of her daughter’s ears on June 11, when she was preparing the child for daycare. A medical evaluation later confirmed that the injuries resulted from blunt force trauma.
King had been watching the child at the residence on the evening of June 10, police say. The mother told authorities that she returned home that night to find her daughter already in bed. According to the investigation, King was determined to be the only person who could have caused the injuries, and he now faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and endangering the welfare of children.
The Lower Allen Township Police Department's warrant for Avery King was served on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
